Blacksaw was born from founders Steph and Kyle Taylor’s transformative journey through the Andean mountains of South America. Inspired by the beauty and versatility of alpaca fiber, they envisioned a brand offering meaningful, sustainable products that transcend trends. On a fourteen-hour bus ride, their mission took shape: to create timeless pieces not defined by size or gender, designed to be cherished and passed down through generations.
Blacksaw’s collection of blankets, throws, clothing, and wall hangings showcases “loud minimalism,” blending bold design with simplicity. Crafted from luxurious alpaca fiber, celebrated for its softness, warmth, and sustainability, each piece is a testament to mindful craftsmanship. The brand prioritizes natural, renewable materials, avoiding synthetic fibers to reduce environmental impact.
Their process begins with alpacas raised by Peruvian communities, where shearing is done with care for the animals' wellbeing. Fibers are sorted by quality and color, showcasing alpaca’s twenty-two natural hues, from rich blacks to silvers and rose-greys. Finished products are rigorously inspected and packaged in plastic-free cotton duster bags, ready to become treasured, timeless possessions.
